TPV AUTOMOTIVE builds new factory in Brežice

Brežice, 23 July – Minister of Economic Development and Technology, Zdravko Počivalšek and Minister of the Environment and Spatial Planning, Andrej Vizjak, paid a visit to TPV AUTOMOTIVE’s new plant in Brežice, which has been partially financed by the government.

 

Ministry of Economic Development and Technology and TPV AUTOMOTIVE d.o.o. from Novo mesto signed a contract, financing TPV AUTOMOTIVE d.o.o. with EUR 6.5 million for production expansion in Brežice. The investment is planned for large-scale production of chassis and body assemblies with the function to support and protect batteries in premium vehicles.

 

A EUR 49 million investment is expected to create 50 new jobs, including 20 jobs for highly qualified professionals. The money will go towards the construction of new industrial facilities in the industrial zone Brezina in Brežice, and expansion of the existing business unit Brežice in Šentlenart.

 

Construction works have been completed in the press shop Brezina, where two presses are already in place. Landscaping is currently underway. In the neighboring assembly building, a fully automated and computer-guided assembly line is being built. The press and assembly line are shining examples of factories of the future. Facilities at the business unit in Šentlernart have been restored, and new machines for production of aluminum components that will be utilized in electric vehicles have been purchased.

 

At Brezina, large-scale production of high-strength steel components for body chassis will start by end of 2021, whereas Šentlenart will launch production of aluminum components for electric cars by end of 2020.

 

The investment project TPV Brezina is coordinated with TPV4LIGHT project that TPV as the leading partner applied for public tender »Demo piloti II 2018«. As part of the project, TPV will invest EUR 16.5 million in equipment and machines. TPV and partners will develop and demonstrate innovative processes for advanced robotic technology lines for the design and assembly of chassis components for the automotive industry. Their aim is to develop a complete technological process of transformation of raw input materials and to integrate optimized traditional technologies with modern visual-voice technologies and artificial intelligence technologies. They will create a complete smart factory concept that will follow the Industry 4.0 strategy.
